FATHERHOOD INITIATIVES
Friends to Fathers
Operating out of a Bronx community center, Friends to Fathers (F2F) is a community-based initiative for non-custodial fathers who are 25 years and older and reside in the Bronx. In keeping with our broader mission to reduce cycles of recidivism, F2F staff offers a comprehensive program to address the issues and concerns of fatherhood with an emphasis on promoting engagement with one's child, providing financial support and developing long-term capacity to be loving, effective dads.
Our program provides a variety of services which include individual counseling, anger management, court advocacy, assistance with child support, visitation and custody matters, and intensive case management. Participants attend informative/educational workshops that focus on parenting skills, conflict resolution/mediation, men's health, financial awareness, healthy relationships, career development and other areas of importance that fit their needs.
Through funds provided by the Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD), F2F also provides assistance and referrals for employment, legal services, domestic violence prevention, vocational training, housing and educational services
Fathers Forward
Fathers Forward serves young fathers 16-24 years old who have been involved with the criminal justice system. We provide case management, educational counseling, as well as on-site educational classes, employment assistance, mental health counseling, support groups, and financial literacy. We also collaborate with neighborhood based organizations to provide additional services, including vocational training, computer classes, family mediation, and parenting classes.
