ON-SITE SERVICES
Youth members come to Friends daily, Monday through Friday, to avail themselves of individually tailored programs, which is a continuation of their pre-release trajectory.

On any given day, young people attend classes from 9 a.m. to noon where those who read at or below fifth grade level learn basic literacy. If returning to school is an option, we facilitate the process for them. We also provide pre-GED classes and on-going GED prep sessions. We seek to develop college-bound youth and guide them through the college admission process.

Afternoons are for structured, scheduled forums for group and individual services such as ready-to-work employment readiness and job placement services, substance awareness, self-discipline and anger management, money budgeting, special art-based workshops, individualized case advocacy and Youth Leadership Training and Father's Pride (for the young fathers in our program). Experienced social workers provide group and individual counseling sessions and referrals. Youth members have confronted staggering circumstances by the time they get to us. We work with them to address issues with family and peer relations, rage, conflict resolution, stress and harm reduction, bereavement, sexuality, health care and substance abuse. These sessions are an important part of their transition back into the community.

We listen, hear, serve, care, coach and nurture - for as long as they want it or need it.
